Hospital Basics or Quick Start Fundamentals
Healthcare experts agree that an organization's credentialing and privileging system is the foundation of quality patient care. While credentialing and privileging decisions are the ultimate responsibility of the Medical Staff and Governing Body, each group relies heavily on medical services management and credentialing personnel to manage an effective credentialing and privileging process, and serve as an internal resource for the medical staff and administration when credentialing issues are identified.
Quick Start: Credentialing Fundamentals New for 2026!
This will be an 8 hour “overview of the fundamentals of credentialing.” Comprehensive practitioner credentialing and privileging, (not including payer enrollment) is more important today than ever before. It’s estimated that at least 5% of all practitioners in this country have significant quality, behavioral, or substance abuse issues that adversely affect patient care; and negligent credentialing claims against healthcare organizations are on the rise. The demand today for qualified, appropriately trained credentialing and medical services management personnel is increasing.
This program will provide you with a basic understanding of the credentialing/verification and privileging processes that take place in healthcare organizations.
